Welcome to my stop on the Tim Holtz, Creativation 2019 bloghop...i'm sharing my (favourite) project from the idea-ology booth.

this isn't a full tutorial, but a collection of concept and process pictures (a peek at how ideas work for me).

Yield: 1– Small Vignette Tray
Wet Ingredients:
  • Ink – Alcohol Espresso, Mushroom; Archival Black Soot; Distress Old Paper, Walnut Stain; Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap
·         Crayons – Distress Candied Apple, Frayed Burlap, Picket Fence
  • Other – Collage Medium (matte); Texture Paste (transparent gloss)
  • Paint – Dina Wakley Umber; Distress Candies Apple, Picket Fence
Dry Ingredients:
  • Vignette Tray (small); Vignette Panel, Vignette Hardware
  • Card Stock – Paper Stash Destinations Glitter – Distress Rock Candy
  • Hardware – Ball Chain, Date Dial, Gadget Gears, Hardware Heads, Large Hinge Clip, Measurements, Mini Pulley Wheels, Numeric, Screw Cup Washers
  • Other – Classic Label Stickers; Layers (remnants), Mica
Tools/Equipment:

  • Other – Design Ruler, Guillotine Cutter, Palette Knife, Scor-Pal; Steel Wool
  • Stamps – Correspondence
  • Stencil – THS010 Eyechart

  50. Hmmm what's my favorite part??? Well lets start with the awesome piece of mica... But the idea-ology - how you used the wheels to hold up the eye chart, or how the gears and new piece (don't know the name) actually looks like steampunk glasses or the numbers running down the right hand side in the back. This is spectacular! So much metal goodness!

I love how your mind works; how you get these crazy ideas and somehow make them come to fruition. No one creates like you. I love every single grungy detail, especially the glass. But it's all the parts that make the whole that keep me coming back for more. I could stare at this all day! Thank you for your inspiration!

  100. WHOA Vicki! I am loving this piece. The chunk of mica makes this piece actually look older and I love the way you used the date dial and gears with the clip to look like a real piece of optometry tool...so clever. I think this is among my top favorites and I really dislike picking favorites since everyone's work is amazing.
